Kodiak’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was directed by Robert Rodriguez and stars Tarantino, but it feels more like the first hour is directed by Tarantino and the later part by Rodriguez; it’s sort of an odd mix of styles with not much transition between those two parts, but I think it works well and it goes out with a very-‘80s-style vampire-slaying special effects extravaganza. There’s some great gore effects, some great sleaze, and some very dodgy CGI that’s very representative of the period it was made in. Salma Hayek is absolutely gorgeous, as if that even needs to be said. Some of the comedy works really well, and some of it is extremely dated, but it’s a cool, grindhousy cheese and sleazefest reminiscent of a long episode of Tales from the Crypt.
