This used to be my least favorite entry of the franchise, but it has really really grown on me over the years and I think I’ve finally come to fully appreciate it for all its MTV era aesthetic. Full honesty, ive always been a die hard F13 loyalist so this entire series has never been especially close to my heart, but having them on Shudder kinda gave me a good excuse to revisit the ones I haven’t seen in a while and I really do love this series and I’m not exactly sure why Jason clicks for,me more than Freddy. It just is what it is.
Some really creative kills in this one. I relate so heavily to Debbie and her fear of cockroaches. Her death is downright traumatic. I think Tuesday Knight is very likable and does a fine job, but let’s face it nobody was ever going to be able to fill Patricia Arquette’s shoes the way Patricia Arquette did.
This has what may be the most completely ridiculous resurrection story of any slasher movie, but where I used to roll my eyes at it i now just accept it as part of the sheer lunacy that makes this 110% 80’s horror sequel so delightful.
