Tom Rice’s review published on Letterboxd:
loved it. more of a reimagining of the source material more than a retelling but one that i think payed off for the better. the inclusion of mr fox’s conflict between being “civilised” and a “wild animal” being a great example. and i think as a kids movie it’s just fun. a little more mature than what people might’ve come to expect from children’s movies, especially with the mindless crap that studios like illumination deliver each year, but i kind of liked that the movie was able to incorporate some darker elements into what is otherwise a fairly lighthearted kids story.
