Sometimes the most simple ideas can be the most effective.
Here, Claude Lelouch creates an 8 minute masterpiece just usig a car with a front mount camera. It is beautifully shot as the unknown driver tears though the streets of Paris at unthinkable speeds. To think this was achieved with no external help, and just one shot just adds to the film.
Who really cares if the sound of the engine was dubbed, it does not detract this from being anything but a masterpiece.
Also, a better love story than twilight.

How this is top of IMDB's top rated films always baffles me. I mean, yes, undoubtedly it is a good film, but it is really let down by its pace. 2 and a half hours for a film based on a 200 page book is a little excessive, and it feels very slow at times.
