Death Note

Death Note

Drunk and decided to rewatch. Don’t give a shit if a films faithful but absolutely abhor how nostalgia for the 80s has infested directors work so much so that they use it as a substitute for an original style. One can pay homage to the era while not leaning on it as a crutch. This director seems to not understand that. Maybe he does and it’s a conscious choice but that’s even worse.  The way scenes and moments are stitched together is just appalling. No rhythm or sense of proper pacing. This is the man that’s been given Godzilla vs King Kong and the I saw the devil remake.

The two leads are very bad one of them had no excuse as he’s proven to be a talented actor (Keith). The other I guess it’s not his fault as well as bad acting seems to run in the family. The foreboding air attempted to surround me but the cartoonish and ineptness of the piece kept it at bay. Not much else to say. Dont bother trying to correct my spelling or grammar. Bro the dictionary isn’t going to fuck you.
