The Father 2020
Florian Zeller's The Father is a painfully accurate depiction of the mental decaying that comes with old age, and is as uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing, as spellbinding and natural. A film with a distinctive European style to it, that comfortably leans on acute dialogue and masterful performances by its lead actors.
One of the most interesting pictures of last year and, once again, a deserved Oscar contender.
