This movie has a a lot of problems, that being said, I didn't hate it. Granted I've never seen the anime. I was intrigued by the opening and stayed entertained despite the obvious problems.
William Dafoe as Ryuk is awesome. He has the perfect voice for this character. Granted The CGI on him doesn't look that good, and he has very limited screen time. I wanted more of him and his backstory.
Instead it sort of becomes a generic teen…
I've had the DVD for awhile and never watched it. After view it, I liked it and think it's the best performance of Denzel Washington's career. I didnt think it wrapped up the events very well and alot of it happened too fast. Still it's good.
Wolverine is over powered by a little old woman. Imagine that. This is a tale of lost faith, revenge, and rebuilding. What would you do if you lost a child? How far would go to find them? Would you punish the person you felt was responsible? Those are the kinds of questions this film asks. This is a gut wrenching drama.
