Current Movie Binges:
Halloween Season 2021 starting soon.
"Courage Dooby Doo!"
I grew up with both of these shows. Scooby-Doo and Courage the Cowardly Dog were two of my favorite shows as a kid. When I saw that this was being made I was pretty excited.
However, I found this to be very underwhelming. I didn't care about the story all that much. It got worse and worse as it progressed. There were some fun moments but I lost full interest around the 30 minute mark.
I was going to…
I tried to watch this. I got maybe five-ten minutes in but it was to hard for me to watch due to having just watched the OG animated film with Mike Myers. I do have it on blu-ray as it came with the Shrek: Ultimate Collection. So, maybe I'll sit down and watch this in full some day.
"He says his name is Gabriel. I think he's someone from my past."
James Wan's latest horror film was great to see on the big screen. It's a mix of supernatural, a slasher and even a crime thriller. Also, this felt like so many movies in one.
From every single James Wan directed horror film to having vibes of The Matrix, Candyman (1992), V for Vendetta, and even Harry Potter. And I loved it for being different and so original.
"You got a puppy? All I got in my room was shampoo."
To me, this is Shrek. I like it better than the first one. Shrek 2 is almost perfect. It's fun and the story is so enticing. The references to films and in general are a total blast.
The soundtrack is great too. I love every song and it's played at the right times. Also I didn't say it in my review of the first one, but Shrek's theme song is amazing.
I haven't seen the Shrek the Third, Shrek Forever After, and Puss in Boots before. I'm looking forward to seeing them.
