It’s fine, watchable and bare entertaining. The commentary is just too safe and boring for my taste, which leads to the jokes being so-so. Sam berg is great, but he kinda works as a comedian because of his physicality (I.e. Brooklyn Nine-Nine), so his Dale falls flat. The same goes for Mulaney. Kiki Layne gives a pretty bland performance. The “2D” animation was quite unappealing and contradictory to the film. Anyhow, it was fun enough, but there wasn’t anything for me to truly invest in. Still, I enjoyed its intertextual content and humour.

Top Gun: Maverick 2022
Insanely well made, the best of blockbusters. It all builds to this insane third act that is pure action orgasm. And the first two acts are brilliant as well, supported by great acting, story beats that make the final act work as well as it does and a blend of nostalgia and exploring new territory regarding the ageing of Cruise/Maverick. Jennifer Connelly is so charming, JON HAMM is getting roles!!! Miles Teller is back! Long live Top Gun: Maverick!

Top Gun: Maverick 2022
Tom Cruise single-handedly carries carries the Hollywood modern blockbusters of our age. This is incredibly thrilling, sequences that simply take your breath away and fill you with adrenaline. It’s amazing just witnessing cinema endeavouring to fulfil its potential with such intensity. Tom Cruise delivers my favourite performance of his in years, largely due to the exploration of his status as a movie star while also contemplating his place in a world that is slowly movie past him. Forgive Us Our Trespasses 2022
I loved representations and all that jazz, but this was just plainly bad. Throughout the whole short, I was disgusted by every choice made by the director.
