Tim Daugherty’s review published on Letterboxd:
Probably my favorite in the Marvel franchise so far, and easily the only entry that made me feel something. Especially that ridiculous little Baby Groot. I felt so damn silly freaking out about a tiny tree. I also loved the levity, sarcastic humor (snark can get grating in the wrong hand), and various cameos and supporting cast. And, of course, the music.
My only problem, and it's not entirely insignificant, is that I didn't love the final battle. Like many of these films it loses any reasonable sense of scale or context. The PacMan visual stunt pretty much sums it up for me. At that moment I wished for the sequence to end before it dug itself into a hole it couldn't get out of. But no matter, this was still excellent and has me worried about a let down with Thor Ranarok next in the queue. Dark World almost knocked me out of this binge.
I've punched out two in two days, so may take a brief detour.
