The Tender Bar

The Tender Bar ★½

It doesn't have the tang of ineptitude I usually need to see for 1.5 stars to enter the realm of possibility, but this is such an acutely nothing experience. Feels like the movie for people who wanted Hillbilly Elegy to be even emptier, frivolous, and less interested in its characters' inner lives. That Ben Affleck gives one of his career-best performances in the face of such writing is miracle enough to put him in line for sainthood.

And bad news everybody, Clooney learned about crash zooms.
