It’s far more interesting than a film designed to sell toys/launch a Disney+ spinoff series needed to be. That doesn’t mean it’s always good. Some of it doesn’t work, but there are some surprisingly moving scenes and some very agreeable light relief moments. It’s marching to the beat of its own drum until it isn’t.

The first forty minutes are almost untouchable but what it’s building to isn’t quite as interesting. Watch out for a cop out when “Zurg” explains the name, other than that very few low points.
