    I often think about those rare films that just feel like they are the film that director was born to make. Dinner Rush is that film for Bob Giraldi. The cramped steel kitchens rinsed in harsh white light and lit with flames dazzlingly contrast against the inviting golden brown sepia-toned sultry of the dining room in a way only an expert restauranteur could capture.

    In my search for the Lex The Wonderdog, the lost masterpiece by child prodigy Sydney Ling, I have discovered this. Shadows of Blood. The rarest of films. A film that basically, doesn't exist.

    Starring Ling collaborator Paul Naschy and maniacal freak Barry Fleming as super sadist serial killers on a strangling rampage across the rain slicked streets of Amsterdam.

    Surprisingly lean supernatural horror. Pushed by strong performances especially from the young cast. Hawke captures something so sinister in his evil playfulness (pun not intended but I’ve kept it because I can’t think of a term other than sinister that fits as nicely). Β 

    I think this is the version of The Lovely Bones I’ve been after.
