Daisy Kenyon 1947
Have reservations with the ending, but I could see this going up to five stars on a rewatch, because this is one of the most playfully subversive relationship melodramas I've seen in a bit. Feels somewhat atypical for Preminger but the panache is still there: his blocking and composition is some of the best he's ever done here; so close to a stone cold masterpiece. However, I cannot count this as a Noirvember watch despite how it was touted to me so it's retroactively booted off the list; this is just a full-out (albeit, once again, incredibly inventive) romantic melodrama.
That said: love you, Otto.
