I wrote the following about the book over on my GoodReads, and I feel like the same could apply here:
There's definitely an audience in mind for this book, although it plays to a few crowds. For me, it works best when there's a central mystery told in a non-linear fashion, with some naturalist observations along the way. Some may enjoy the back half, where it becomes more of a courtroom thriller, although it started to lose me a bit there.
To add here, am confused as to why the two male leads seem to have been played by the same actor.
