Spook Month 2021: FE4R Day 15
I don't really know what to say? It was boring at times, punctually good at others. Halloween Kills is certainly a mess but there's something lingering about the tone of this film. The comedy seems to be almost gone and is instead supplied with even more gore. Michael McDonald is in it (glad he still exists, love him). The mob subplot is genuinely chilling albeit heavy handed. I think compared to the awful clunker that was 2018 anything would look better but there's more love in this and I can actually feel that. Some shots are particularly interesting and bold, even if silly. Halloween Kills might be in the better half of the franchise? Or worst? I honestly don't know but my initial gut reaction was that I actually liked this.
