Watching this outside on a shitty projector by the fire the way Freddy intended. The atmospheric dream kills are always amazing, and I think they use the psych hospital setting really well. Oh my god and that amazing tie-in Dream Warriors song. And the little stop motion Freddy! It definitely signaled the start of the villain’s goofball era but I think this film strikes a solid balance of tones that’s hard to beat. Between the epic showdown of Elm Street kids fighting back and the moody, memorable kills this is an excellent Nightmare movie.
