    Columbus

    ★★★

If I had to sum up the film to a friend I’d struggle to actually say what it’s about.

It’s a very thoughtful film and mature in its feel. Well made and nice looking with great acting, but it didn’t make me think about anything other than trying to find a point. It’s pretty thin.

Does anyone still care about this movie?

I preferred the simplicity and freshness of the first film, but I have to appreciate where they went with the sequel and it’s a lot of fun. Jessica Rothe is, again, the main attraction of the movie.

  • The Void

    The Void

    ★★★

With the eerie atmosphere that spans through the whole movie, a solid music score, and acting performance that don’t let down, The Void can’t be called a great movie in case of storytelling, but it’s definitely worth your time to see.

  • Godzilla: King of the Monsters

The main problem I had with 2014 Godzilla was that the human characters didn’t have any development, and I didn’t get enough Godzilla.

This movie improves upon it, even though it wasn’t anything spectacular, people will definitely be entertained from its amazing visuals and fantastic monster fights.

You know what to expect from a movie like this.

Some people said this movie feels like a really long music video. And I agreed. I can appreciate the simplicity of the story and how it’s told. But I’m not really a fan of Gambino’s work, so I’m obviously not a fan of this one.

I kinda spoiled myself by watching the docu-series and doing research before watching this.

But honestly, the movie did a really good job at showing how manipulative Ted Bundy is. Because I’m pretty sure, for someone who never heard of Ted Bundy before, they will root for him for the entire movie, until that ending which would be a lot more shocking to them.

Unfortunately, I’ve had known pretty much everything that happened in this movie. Except for his relationship with Liz which, by the way, acted really well by Zac Efron and Lilly Collins.

This intense dramatic film about survival had me on the edge of my seat for the most part.

Mads Mikkelson is excellent in this movie. He is honestly one of the most underrated actor working today. He did a great job at non-verbally displaying human emotions and intense suffering.

But the overall directing and story didn’t do much for me, nor did it differentiate itself numerous other survival-themed movies. Which is unfortunate.

Been on my watchlist for quite some times, finally got a chance to watch this.

Intense, graphic, atmospheric, minimalist, and satisfying thriller. It takes enough time to really get started, and once it does, the suspense barely lets up.

    A24 produced movies never disappoints.

This film is so weirdly relatable. I had a smile on my face the entire time, whether it’s because of the comedy or the sheer absurdity of the movie.

This was a simple feel good movie and I don’t feel the movie was trying to be deeper than it was. Not amazing, but definitely above average. I think Brie Larson did a great job both in front and behind the camera.

When you’re tired of movies about aliens invading our planet, this movie is actually about us destroying theirs.

Ender’s Game was a highly enjoyable movie to watch. It includes wonderful visuals, which could easily be its downfall; but I think the real problem here is the rushed pacing. As a result, the movie falls flat in delivering some emotional goods. An additional 30 or 45 minutes is sorely needed for character developments and plot.

However, this movie is really entertaining. Go with modest expectations and you’ll like it.

  • Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

    Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

    ★★★

From someone who never played the game, I found myself quite invested in the story. Although, we were given very little informations that made it hard to fully understand what’s happening.

The visual graphics were stunning, the editing for action scenes were jumpy at times but it’s still exciting.

Kingslaive : Final Fantasy XV is quite a fun and enjoyable watch. But the inconsistency of its storytelling makes it a giant beautiful mess.

  • Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes

Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes

    ★★★

In the middle of all these Oscar outrage, I watched this instead...

You can actually save a lot of time by going to Wikipedia and get ten times the information about Ted Bundy. If you expected this to be similar as Mindhunter, then you’ll most definitely be disappointed just like me.

This series is not about the ‘conversation’; it’s about him. For someone who know nothing about Bundy, the show might be intriguing. But for someone who already knew, you’ll…
