  • Adrift

"Adrift" is a good survival drama that you know what to expect but Shailene Woodley makes it more emotionally satisfying than it would be otherwise. All the performances are exceptional, directed with good pace and beautiful cinematography.

Although it’s not that exciting, it has a rather good element of suspense and romance in it. And of course it is always refreshing to see a film where a female protagonist isn't passively waiting for a rescue.

  • Pin Cushion

    Pin Cushion

This is a sad film. A loner, disabled mom and her daughter move to a new town for a fresh start, but they are just too weird and don't fit in. Depressed, low self-esteemed mom is just heartbreaking to watch unravel. The teen daughter tries to fit in, to no avail. It seems as these desperate attempts at socializing just don't work.
With a brutal honesty that never becomes overly graphic, there are many shocking moments to this story. But…

  • Aquaman

As a fan of DC comics, I’m glad to say that this movie is better than any DCEU film, and some of MCU movies I think. The DC has step up their game - this is another level.
Never ever had I expected this movie to be this beautiful and visually stunnning. Those wide angle and tracking shots in the action scenes were a treat. The movie is very straightforward and you quickly get excited to know what's to come…

  • Wind River

    Wind River

I didn't know anything about when I went to watch it. I'm glad I didn't. It came as a fantastic surprise.

The story, whilst nothing shocking in of itself, is realistic and believable. The reveal towards the end is satisfyingly on the money, and it tugs at the emotional strings to see very believable and well acted grief on the part of the family that suffered the loss. The acting was excellent and carried the drama very well. More crime thrillers should deliver like this did.

  • Mortal Engines

    Mortal Engines

I went into this movie not having read the book nor watch any of the trailers. I simply walked into this movie only knowing that the filmmakers of TLOTR made this, so I was pretty excited.

After I watched the movie, sure it was fun, exciting and an enjoyable adventure movie to watch, the visuals and the cinematography were stunning, I really like the look of this “future world” they trying to make. They filmed the action scenes really well,…

  • Creed

The long-take fight scenes are so relieving, not a wild shaky-cam with bunch of cuts which what I thought I'm gonna get from this movie. Very well directed and marvelously acted. Michael B.Jordan is terrific in this film, but Sylvester Stallone I think stands out the most throughout this movie. He absolutely knocks it out of the park in what may have been his best performance in his career as an actor.

As for flaws, there's nothing new you can…

  • Never Let Me Go

    Never Let Me Go

This movie was not a great, honestly. It's just okay. But when I finished watching it, I somehow kinda feel depressed and anxious because of the story of the movie. And a movie that can make you feel something is a kind of movie that you will remember your entire life.

  • Nerve

This movie comes at the perfect time with the craze of Pokemon Go; a time when you literally see millions of people obsessed with just an app. This is basically the plot of the movie.

The acting was great, the pacing was great, the color look and the tone of the movie were all top notch. But the movie kinda felt obvious, I wasn't surprised with anything happened in the movie, and I never emotionally moved like how the movie wanted the audience to be.

However, it is an entertaining movie. Worth a watch.

  • La La Land

    La La Land

Yes, sure this movie was great. Filled with great performances from Emma and Ryan, Damien Chazelle's really, really good direction and screenplay. The musics too were good. But it's kinda overrated unfortunately. 14 Oscar nominations, really?

  • 10 Cloverfield Lane

    10 Cloverfield Lane

Slow building & plot alternating claustrophobic bunker movie with great performances. The secrecy made everything better.

Although I didn't really like the ending..

  • Eighth Grade

    Eighth Grade

This is a very accurate portrayal of an introvert teenager’s life in middle school. The movie itself is truly well-made, heart-warming, sad, but funny at the same time.

However, I think this movie is hollow and needs to be put some more weight on it's plot, it didn’t hit the audience enough imo. And as a result, this movie is easily forgotten— at least for me.

Heartbreaking and realistic romance movie. Both of the lead actors did a very good job.
