• A Quiet Place Part II

    A Quiet Place Part II

    ★★★½

The plot structure and lack of clear point or character arc makes it feel more like a bonus short film for the OG rather than a “Part II”.

Let down by the abrupt ending but I loved it while it lasted. Maybe it would work better if a Part III is released.

  • The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

    ★★★

Two of the reasons the MCU has had such great storytelling is 1. it’s patience in slowly and methodically building its world and 2. focusing on character and the dynamics between characters.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier crams so much content in its six episodes that Sam and Bucky’s character development and relationship is rushed and overlooked.

I don’t care about its weak, confusing, and preachy villains. I want to see Bucky’s normal day in the life!...

What’s the point if we don’t even get to hear Arnold’s glorious Austrian accent.

  • To Kill a Mockingbird

    To Kill a Mockingbird

    ★★

I’m biased after just reading the book but the filmmaking here is just plain.

The the condensed replica of the book make for a compelling movie and doesn’t leave space for some of the messages to sink in. I honestly wouldn’t mind this being four hours.

Y’a... Something gives me the feeling the Disney executives wouldn’t be to keen on this one these days.

These types of movies with little to no plot usually just bore the life out of me (*cough* The Florida Project *cough*).

I always wonder if the people making these movies intended for it to be serious.

I’m not usually the type to complain over insignificant plot holes, but this ones is looking like Swiss cheese to me. Makes me appreciate 1 and 2 so much more.

Also they didn’t even try to make the Emilia Clarke look like Sarah Connor!
