Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban ★★★★★

Adolescence as the realization of the wounds that surround us; a sad, jagged journey of self-discovery where the connection between past + present and rage + suffering are contextualized into a deeper empathy for people, and if not an understanding, at least an acceptance of their actions. Still among the most visually sophisticated studio franchise movies ever made—the way this intimately ebbs and flows through Harry's psychology and eventual catharsis is vital. (Note: gf's birthday so she got to choose the movie. Good choice.)
