Jack’s review published on Letterboxd:
Simplistic yet horrifying; completely thanks to its disturbing imagery rather than jump scares which is a goddamn relief. Performances are a bit over the top, something I’ve come to expect from early horror films, but it’s balanced out with some really great humour from John Goodman - he shows up midway through and elevates the film to another level. There’s also a few shots towards the end where it shows the reflection in the ‘General’ spiders eyes and my god they’re hauntingly beautiful. Definitely don’t watch this if you have Arachnophobia, the final 15 minutes alone is enough to send you comatose.
