Enemy of the State

Enemy of the State ★★★★★

Criminally underappreciated! The bridge between traditional and contemporary Tony Scott. The directing in Enemy of the State is unique and energetic. The way Tony Scott and Dan Mindel make use of reflections, lighting, and lens flares to create images that are beyond words. But if I had to describe them in two words it'd have to be: right on. These images are assembled together by the brilliant Chris Lebenzon, whom under Scott's directing, does a fantastic job with capturing a sense of space, and also the emotion within the actor's facial expressions. Other great collaborations between the two are Taking of Pelham 123 and Déjà Vu. A top notch action film, Tony Scott's bulky and conspiracy fueled picture is damn near a masterpiece.
