Relatively normal comedy where Will Ferrell fucks up, Mark Wahlberg scolds, John Lithgow smiles, and Mel Gibson horrifies and humiliates. This is until the third act, where the entire emotional crux of the film takes place in a movie theater lobby as an insane amount of extras witness these people sort out their familial issues through yelling, hitting, kissing, and singing. An amazing, amazing movie. No other action movie is like this. The movie basically consists of David Belle escaping RZA’s compound a comical amount of times, usually getting into a violent car crash or avoiding an absolutely incredible amount of weaponry and explosions. Saw is so awesome, and we as a world don’t deserve its brilliance. Tobin Bell genuinely gives an incredible performance, the third act is nuts, and it also looks like a real movie! I hope they make Saw movies until the Sun explodes.
