Sundance 2021 - Film #30 (Ranked at #12)
JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH is a strikingly powerful and timely masterwork that deserves to be upheld as the most important film of the year. Kayuula and Stanfield deliver career-best performances, while the urgent direction & brutal screenplay elevate the film into a worthy awards contender that has a shot at sweeping nominations with the right momentum.
