“I'm not in the business. I am the business.”
It’s been years since I first watched Blade Runner, and always thought of it as good but not great, but admittedly I didn’t watch it under the greatest circumstances, and didn’t pay full attention to the story or themes. Upon rewatch I was blown away by it. I’m not much of a fan of sci-fi in general, but the world Ridley Scott creates is so dazzling to see and feel that you can’t help but get sucked into it. The final cut is definitely better than the previous I saw, which I’m assuming was the international theatrical release. No clue why the unicorn dream scene was ever cut, and removing the narration makes Deckard’s arc feel significantly more natural and effective. One of the greatest science fiction movies ever made.
