    Babylon manages to acquire the holy trinity, the three crucial pillars of cinema. Namely, piss, vomit and shit. If that doesn't draw a cultured individual as yourself, I don't know what will.

    The scenes often drag a bit which contradict the chaos, causing the direction to drift away. Being a victim of its own runtime doesn't take away that it feels like an amusement park and you can tell the cast had a blast. The movie acts both as a satirical take and an ode to the olden days of the American film industry. The title says it all.

    A good pint and a rainy day make for the perfect setting when watching Martin McDonagh's screenplay unfold. No, scratch that, soak in. You are submerged by this rugged yet charming island off the west coast of Ireland. The dark tavern, yes singular, the livestock, bleak meadows and all the "fecking" swearing.
