Madelyn M.’s review published on Letterboxd:
Everyone I knew including my freaking parents asked if I watched this when I decided to sit this out. -_-
Simultaneously better and worse than the theatrical cut, but mostly better.
It's not even Zack Snyder's fault because finally the directing in this movie does not feel like absolute ass as it does in the theatrical cut. It is very much a film that is in his style. It's mostly competent I'm just not big on him very much. That isn't a dig at anyone who is a fan of his, he is not the reason why I didn't like this.
I also believe the length allows me to believe the dynamic's chemistry a lot more as well, so good job on that! Most of the moments where it was triumphant felt actually earned as well.
Really the main reason this sucks a little still has more to do with the fact that Chris Terrio is one of the worst screenwriters working. He wins one Oscar for Argo fuck yourself and suddenly he writes two of the worst blockbusters ever (theatrical cut of Justice League and Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker).
Plus the ending was way to self-indulgent for my taste but whatever, you all have fun with this. I'm just tired. I do give a light recommendation though for people who enjoy superhero films.
