  • tick, tick...BOOM!

    tick, tick...BOOM!

tick, tick...BOOM is a powerhouse of a movie. Much like Larson, Miranda also gave us a unique spin on the musical genre. He understands how to think like Larson.

This is no ordinary musical. It's alive and feels like it's breathing with every new song. The nineties aesthetic is a character on its own. It's almost a realistic episode of Friends.

But everything has meaning and every song pushed the story into a new direction. The execution feels chaotic and…

  • Ghostbusters: Afterlife

    Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Despite some shortcomings and weird choices pacing-wise, I still managed to have a lot of fun with Ghostbusters Afterlife. The movie feels drastically different from its 1984 predecessor, the tone is lighter and the scope is smaller. But the quippy dialogue is still there, filled with sarcasm and one-liners. Brought to life by the colorful characters.

The movie is packed with adventure and nostalgia. But also a lot of heart. I mean, stuff happens in the third act and I…

  • Love Hard

    Love Hard

Love Hard doesn't reinvent the wheel here. But it does a fine job at being what it is, an adorable romantic comedy with a little heart. If you could look past the rocky start and the offbeat direction, you'll have a great time.

Dobrev and Yang do sell the movie, they distract you enough from the very predictable plot that tries to be different, but isn't.

It's an okay movie to reel you in early for Christmas. Give it a shot...

  • Eternals

    Alright. Here we go.

Eternals is hardly the worst or even the weakest Marvel movie. But we are so used to the formula that a sudden change in tone and pace might feel weird or strange to us, including me. Certainly after more than 20 entries.

Eternals flipped the whole MCU formula upside down while still maintaining the quirky aspects. And it did not work for me. It came across as messy and passionless. Zhao was juggling a lot of…

  • Dune

I've finally seen it. Finally. This was one of my most anticipated movies of the year. And it most certainly didn't let me down.

There isn't much to say about this movie. And I mean that in a very positive way. I was blown away by every shot and every frame. Villeneuve is a great director and one of the best ones in the field today.

He cares about every detail in the script. And Dune happened to be loaded…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Deathly Hallows part 2 is the epic conclusion of a near-perfect franchise. Every emotional beat feels earned and satisfying. We've been there from the very beginning. I literally grew up with these movies. I've seen every entry in theaters, even the first one, and I was 5 back then. These movies are all very important to me. Each one represents another moment of my life. And rewatching all of them every year brings back a lot of memories in the process.

I will love this franchise until my dying breath...
