I finally watched this for the second time since seeing it in the theater under the influence of a weed edible. This was especially disappointing because there’s the foundation of something so fun here. I think their intended audience was people just like me (over-30-year-old fans of Home Alone), and yet they couldn’t quite suss the tone out. Nothing new, but God… so much fun. I didn’t realize this was going to be set in Seattle (like Malignant!), but that was an exciting surprise. They also used a Charlotte Gainsbourg track I did one of my very first burlesque acts to. I feel like this movie was made just for me!
I think I need to watch my way through all of Akela Cooper’s scripts now.
