Way late with this as I saw it almost a month ago when it was first released and have just been way too busy to sit and write anything down, but I loved this a whole lot.
One thing I liked in particular was the idea that stories - movies, comic books, legends - are a form of hope and relief in the absence of either. It’s an idea that’s been touched upon plenty of times before but it’s nonetheless affecting, especially in regards to the relationships in the movie as well as in the larger context of superheroes. And to find that in this superhero, one who has grappled through the years on screen in search of connection and relief in one last push towards a happier ending, is beautiful.
