A perfectly cast, down-to-earth sci-fi romance. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet play two fairly unlikeable, struggling people. They might not be best for each other, but shared memories can equate to love and sometimes connection is unavoidable. The scene with the faculty Christmas party where Scott uses his Santa magic to give the adults presents they wanted in their youth is one of the purest in film history.

I don't think I'll ever be able to fully express my love for this play. It's use of language and monologues is like no other. It has the excitement and urgency of a musical, and manages to be engaging for six whole hours. There is nothing like it.
