Tarryn-tino’s review published on Letterboxd:
For international women's day I decided to only watch films by female directors.
Ended up with a bit of a mixed bag, but a lot of variety. Started my day of with Jupiter Ascending.
Was it great? No. But it was entertaining enough. I feel like most of the problems lay in the antagonists actually. They all seemed like caricatures of some other villain from some other film and they were all completely unconvincing.
Bae Doona was TOTALLY wasted and that really annoyed me. As was Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
Our two leads were serviceable enough. I think Kunis was stronger than Tatum, who was very 50/50 throughout the whole film.
Overall, it was fun enough, but I can't see myself rushing out to watch it again.
