Still such an amazing and powerful collection of films.

I was lucky enough to catch this on one of our on demand streaming services, just one day before it dropped of their schedule. I'd seen it before in the cinema, but hadn't had a chance to watch it again since.

The first time I watched it, I remember really enjoying it and finding the stories very interesting and emotional, all in their own ways. Since I last watched, however, I've…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Not going to lie, I have been thinking about this film all most non-stop since I watched it yesterday.

Oddly enough, I watched Frozen yesterday and I couldn't help but draw parallels between Elsa and Thelma - two girls who, instead of being taught how to harness, use and control their gifts, they are instead forced to conceal and withdraw from it, causing them to lose control.

I think it's probably a really great analogy for religious suppression of one's…

I've been trying not to think about this film too much, because I feel like it's one of those films that if you think about it too much, you'll end up realising that it's not very good.

First two acts were quite strong and the final act felt a bit lazy, but it was still relatively entertaining.

Visually quite stunning and had a great soundtrack.

Nice to see Anya Taylor-Joy do something a bit more interesting, as I feel she's…

"What separates us from yesterday is not a rift, but a change in position."

An intriguing film, to say the least and one that I think left me with more questions than answers - not in the bad sense, either, but rather in the thoughtful sense.

The first question comes with the title. I often ponder why certain decisions are made when translating film titles to English. Yesterday Girl is fine, but Abscheid von Gestern is far better. Literally translated…

Let's clear a few things up:

The budget of this film was US$257,000.

It was shot in 2 weeks.

It was the director's debut film.

It was the screenwriter's debut film.

With those things in mind, this is what I thought.

It feels real. It is heart-breaking.

    The central performances are outstanding.

It tackles important social issues, for Hong Kong. It looks at mental health issues. It looks at the hardships carers, family and friends of mental health sufferers face.

It is definitely worth a watch. Extremely well done.

It took me weeks to build myself up to watch this. I knew that it was going to give me the feels, but I knew it would be amazing, I just couldn't bring myself to watch it.

I finally did two weekends ago. I've recently been studying slavery and I thought at the end of reading about it for 5 hours, that I would be sufficiently ready for it, that my skin would have gotten a bit thicker to take…
