Say what you will about Ryan Reynolds' ever-sickening shtick...he goes toe-to-toe and holds his own here playing in the sad sandbox with master mournful Ben Mendelsohn and it's pretty fun!

Mortal Kombat 2021
Starts with Sonya Blade saying something like, “We don’t know much…” before she then spends 3 minutes explaining the entire Mortal Kombat concept in great detail... She was the WORST (though Cole Young is fighting hard for that title). The best was how much the movie emphasized (big meanie) Sub Zero vs. Scorpion. Swings wildly, mostly badly… Cheapo-feeling but I dug some of Raiden’s lightning teleportation and a lot of the VFX really worked for me on a video game-level…
