I would've given this 5 stars, but they watered down the dahomey tribe's involvement in the slave trade and made it seem some of them wanted to end it (not sure if that is true). I didn't know this until the movie finished and I researched about the tribe. There are many times where movies are historically inaccurate, but this is a pretty bad thing to be inaccurate about. I thought the cinematography, story, and acting were phenomenal, but seeing them twisting the story makes me feel a bit weird. I think its a great film and know that it's definitely fictionalized, don't get me wrong, but I just feel off about that. They should've chosen a different tribe if they wanted a movie like this.
