"It's Halloween; everyone's entitled to one good scare."
Okay, quick question. What the fuck was wrong with me the first time I watched this and gave it a lukewarm review? It's so wonderful. When I look at my old review of this, I want to go back in time and slap myself. (And I'm not even into that!) [a/n: lmao yes i am. the person i was dating at the time was just rly bad at it.]
I love the music. I love Jamie Lee Curtis. I love the kills. My favorite is probably when he strangles Lynda with the phone cord while wearing a sheet like a ghost costume, but honestly, they're all pretty fantastic. I love the fact that the environment the kills happen in are just "people hanging out on Halloween." I love the fact that pumpkins are fucking everywhere, including on the nightstand next to a horny teen couple having the quickest/saddest sex ever. (I've never fucked with a jack-o-lantern on the nightstand, but I totally would.)
So... yeah. I totally love Halloweens 1-3, so that's pretty neat! Moreover, I'm not even super sure which one is my favorite at this point. I think it might still be the second one by the thinnest of margins, but it's not nearly as clear-cut as I thought.
"I wasn't spooked."
