I think this is the downside of taking the adaptation of Evil Dead in this direction. This movie truly lives and breaths with it's two leads as far as I'm concerned and they did a very good job in my mind. There were clearly elements that felt cheesy but I overlooked them because of how good Penn and Duvall were. I think had the subject material been handled more expertly a film like this could have been an absolute brilliant masterpiece but as it is, it was still very good. -

As somewhat of a sneakerhead this was a really interesting movie for me. The humor was quite good and cast very likeable. This isn't quite the level of Moneyball when it comes to the insight the film gives you on the source material but it was really cool to learn the situation at hand and how the deal was made!
