    964 Pinocchio

Just like Jeanne Dielman, I have been trawling the internet for years to find this, and I finally found a link in the depths of Reddit today. I need to explore Reddit more if they are holding gems like this on there.

This is probably one of the most anarchistic, visceral, cyberpunk, “i don’t give a fuck” movies I have ever watched, more so that Tetsuo (which apparently this gets compared to a lot).

    The audio design is loud…

    “Did you wash your hands?”

If anyone knows where I can get this movie that can play through a region 2 player, please let me know.

I don’t know if anyone realises how long I have been waiting to watch this bloody film. Every time I look, I couldn’t find it online with subtitles anywhere or a region 2 DVD copy. The copy I want (still now) most, Criterion, is region A only. I thought I’d try once again in…

    Bunnyman: Grindhouse Edition

There is a vomit inducing grainy old time footage type filter that’s been poorly placed over this film and it makes me want to heave.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

Not going to lie, I have never been a fan of this series. I have never found any of them scary, I found them lazy on their over reliance of jump scares and sudden loud noises. The same is here. There are no scares, and there is no suspense, just forced “horror” that rips off from quite a few other better films. No style. No substance. Nothing good here. I never expected to enjoy this, low and behold, it lived…

“Wouldst thou like to live deliciously?”

The fear of religion. The fear of superstition. The paranoia that spreads and devours all family ties. Black Phillip fucking things up.

I’m rewatching The Witch to get prepared to see The Lighthouse when it finally comes out in the UK. I really love this slow burning psychological horror about the slow disintegration of a family during 17th century New England.

    “Why won’t anybody help me?”

A layered 50 minutes experience of ageism that is blunt, confrontational, painful and hits like a sledgehammer. I’m so glad that this wasn’t lost forever because this is a stellar bit of filmmaking from Romero here. The Lutheran Society didn’t like this commissioned movie. Was it too real for them? This might be one of Romero’s deeply rooted horror movies he has made. This is inescapable, the inevitability of growing old is a given thing.…
