Finch ★★★½

As if Cormac McCarthy blended Wall-E and Cast Away into a remake of The Road. Yes, wildly unoriginal. Yet, it works — it somehow manages to genuinely hit all the feels, which is a testament to a) a sharp screenplay that elevates character development over mindless action sequences, b) insanely affective robots that legitimately inspire empathy, and c) the unwaveringly lovable charisma of a curmudgeonly Tom Hanks.
