Cinematic Underdogs’s review published on Letterboxd:
The much better Not Another Teen Movie. The much lesser Heathers. Edebiri and Sennott have impeccable comedic chemistry & timing. Loved that the football team is never not in full jersey & pads. Wish a few jokes went even harder. While Marshawn Lynch is disarmingly charming as always, I felt they held back on letting him improv and go full Beast Mode. That’s a slight bummer. Nevertheless, whenever it boldly goes gonzo, it’s an absolute riot. I lost count of all the funny details littering the background, like the cheerleader jumping & clapping her pom-poms together after the tree explodes In the final scene. I also dug that it was self-mocking whenever didactic or saccharine. A true comedy.
