The Worst Person in the World 2021
The best rom-com of the year.
The third film of Joachim Trier's "Oslo Trilogy", The Worst Person In The World feels, in many ways, like a postmature coming-of-age. A portrait of contemporary life in Oslo, about feeling indecisive and unsure of what you actually want or who you actually are, and the fear that comes with it. Trier made a noticeably considerate choice to emphasise the real modernity of this story; conversations about feminism, #metoo, and digitalisation are everywhere to…

The Worst Person in the World 2021
Joachim Trier has dismantled the intricacies of intimacy like no other with this film. His dissection of human relationships is performed with such surgical accuracy. Everything is laid bare. But in spite of its issues in how it…

CODA 2021
Look CODA is predictable, cheesy etc, but it has enough charm to be its own thing and stay fresh without loosing its heart. I cried, I laughed, I grew to love these characters. It has enough of everything for me to believe this has what it takes to win Best Picture but please don’t quote me on that as there’s more deserving films nominated.
8.5/10
EDIT: CODA WON BEST PICTURE
