Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ★★★½

"I had a hunch, but I think it's been confirmed with this movie. The MCU, has gotten sloppy."

This is what my father said after leaving the theater to an MCU movie that me and him have both been waiting for, since it was announced in probably 2019.

Doctor Strange in the MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. That title really did excite us. We'd finally discover the secrets of Marvel's universe! A title that got us all excited for what would come. A title that made me so excited for the mcu, that I ended up waiting for 4 years without any loss of anticipation.

I can't remember how much I liked Doctor Strange when it first came out. I remember liking the mcu a lot. The MCU was a huge part of my childhood. But I don't ever remember loving doctor strange. I do, however, remember watching it on repeat. I've probably seen doctor strange 3 or 4 times (which is pretty small for mcu movies in my family).

And the title delivered. Doctor Strange sure is in a mad Multiverse. And I'd say that's what the film does best. Showing how each universe has minor and major differences, but each one of them is just as crazy as the next one.

But from this, results in plot holes. Some of which are tried to be written out of, which doesn't work. Others, are not. Which works much less. There are so many questions to be answered, and don't tell me that they're gonna be answered later. I'm done waiting for answers. I'm done hearing that the MCU has a plan. Watch Wandavision again. I dare you. Sometimes the MCU doesn't have a plan. And I think it was pretty clear with some of these major plot holes that the MCU did not have a plan with this movie.

And yeah, there were good parts too. I liked Doctor strange as a character, which I haven't really ever before this. Like I said, the universe is awesome. And there are a ton of Easter eggs.

However some of these Easter eggs, one in particular, only raised more plot holes. Worth it? I think not.

A new character was added. She was generic and bland but not annoying, which I guess is good? She had an interesting backstory that added LGBTQ representation but I don't know why marvel can't have a main character that's gay

Yeah. It was alright. Nothing special. Not worth 4 years of wait, but then again is anything? (well yes I waited for longer to watch breaking bad that was definitely worth it and also pulp fiction but still). Thanks for seeing this with me cali!
