Asher’s review published on Letterboxd:
I didn't understand The Master the first time I saw it. I liked it, but didn't know what to think of it. I didn't even know what to rate it. Over time, I have come to not only love it, but cherish it. It is a beautiful film. An important piece of modern filmmaking. In fact, I think it to be one of "the" most important films of our time. Why? Because it is a nearly flawless exercise in raw emotion and honest-to-life human interaction. Because it is a film that captures cinema at its most pure. Because it masterfully encapsulates what it means to be an individual, to overcome false religion, to stand up and make a difference in a world drenched in spiritual darkness... And simply because it is true art.
The Master is nothing short of a milestone, and a perfect example of P.T.'s brilliance.
