Asher’s review published on Letterboxd:
Spielberg proved in a time when well made sequels were believed to be dead that there was still room for one, even after the likes of The Godfather Part II and Empire strikes Back. Though it comes no where remotely close to being as great as those sequels are, The Lost World: Jurassic Park is still one worth shouting about.
In terms of sheer entertainment, it lives up to its predecessor. But in terms of depth and execution, it sadly falls short... Which, if you're like me, will effect your overall enjoyment of watching the film.
All in all, despite a few let downs and some flaws, like really bad acting from extras and some messy set up in the third act, The Lost World: Jurassic Park is a fine sequel that's actually rather well made and delivers plenty of thrills, excitement, and an outstanding returning performance by Jeff Goldblum, that's sure to please fans of the original.
