Compares favorably to Diana: The Musical, but not, like, that much more favorably. Larrain makes some interesting visual choices, and he absolutely turns the most opulent Christmas ever into a nightmarish prison of obligation. If only the script hit as many different notes as Jonny Greenwood’s score. This is one of those movies where you feel like you get it after 30 minutes, and then there’s 90 more minutes after that.
