A real disappointment. Not sure what lies behind the hype of this movie. The slave narrative straight up doesn't work and it's wasted on the fact that we spend the entire time looking at the film from Harrison Ford's character's perspective. The additional layer of him being a replicant did absolutely nothing to enhance or deepen the story.
The best part of the film is the character of Rachel. Her identity crisis is one that is, at times, actually allowed to permeate the surface of the film. The dramatic tension between who she believes herself to be and who she learns she is works really well. Contrasted against Deckard's unnecessarily vague identity reveal.
