Stu’s review published on Letterboxd:
Definitely the pick of the bunch for me and by far the more mature movie of the series. My perseverance was finally rewarded in the originality stakes with a nicely constructed origin story coupled with a good second half conclusion to the trilogy. The storyline behind the whole witchcraft plot was clever and I especially liked the recycling of the cast, from the first two movies, during the 1666 segment.
The token twist during the second half of the film was executed well alongside tips of the hat to greats such as Dawn of the Dead (1978) and The Lost Boys (1987) among others. All in all a solid way to wrap up what was a slow burner for me.
