    who isn’t in this movie?

  • Party Monster

    Party Monster

“madonna always works. and when all else fails, play techno. it’s nondescript, unrecognizable, and everyone will think you’re so cutting edge.”

one of my favorite movies ever. macauley culkin, chloe sevigny, sick costumes, ladytron, nyc club scene. love.

  • Vanilla Sky

    Vanilla Sky

I loved the opening sequence, lucid dream ad, and soundtrack. I feel like any movie Tom Cruise is in just becomes a “Tom Cruise” movie. His acting was good in some scenes, but in others it just felt very ... Tom Cruise. I think this movie tries to accomplish too much and it ends up feeling very messy and unenjoyable.

  • Greenberg

the characters remind me of a 2010 version of Alvy and Annie. love greta gerwig in this. it’s pretty funny, but not as memorable or as good as any of his other films imo

  • Half Nelson

    Half Nelson

good movie about an unlikely friendship and i think ryan gosling is great in this. bonus points for broken social scene :)

  • Amores Perros

    Amores Perros

The first story in the movie was incredible and I would’ve been happy if it stopped there or at the second story. I don’t think there’s enough payoff to have it be 2 and a half hours long because it didn’t feel like the three stories interwove enough. Amores Perros is tough love and shitty relationships. It doesn’t provide closure but it’s honest.

  • The Square

    The Square

Ok if I’m being honest I only continued watching because Christian is so hot. It was good overall and had some funny scenes, but I think the theme was a little *too* on the nose

*edit* rewatched and wtf i can’t believe i forgot how funny the post sex condom scene was. adding half a star for that one

  • Uptown Girls

    Uptown Girls

quintessential 2000s film. there’s nothing bad anyone can say about it. it’s perfect. muah <3

  • LoveTrue

“When I was a kid I thought like a kid”
After I watched LoveTrue, I played the trailer on loop for days. The score by Flying Lotus was so hauntingly  beautiful. I think this is Alma Ha’rel’s best work. It didn’t feel like a documentary at all really. You can tell she cared so much for the people in it. It never felt like she was taking from them, instead it appeared she was helping them heal. I think the…

  • Drive

Ryan Gosling is so good at doing so little

  • Lick the Star

    Lick the Star

insanely good for her first short. i love the characters. it reminds me of my middle school journals, creating a State of The Union. i watch this a lot and recommend friends to follow up with the virgin suicides

  • Alps

I wanted to like this movie, but I didn’t. Incredible story idea, but I felt so disconnected to it that I couldn’t get into it at all. Maybe I just have to watch another day. I think this is a movie that would probably have to be seen in theatres to maintain focus :(
