Glass Onion

Glass Onion ★★★½

Aims to entertain and does so with flying colors - the screenplay isn’t as tight as Knives Out and it can get weighed down by its own mystery going into the latter half, but it’s also grander and more eccentric than its predecessor which is really fun. Very punchy and increasingly prescient commentary from Rian Johnson. Edward Norton is a scary good billionaire asshat, but Janelle Monáe steals the show. Daniel Craig is one of our most precious little men and gives one of the best comedic performances of the year, every line delivery is perfection. Though I never had that big ‘satisfying’ realization moment, I appreciate that Johnson is trying to avoid stale whodunnit beats, he’s redefining the genre as we know it. A grand ol’ time at the movies.
